As the news of Jose Mourinho williness to take Willian on board at Old Trafford, the Chelsea star has spoken on his future at the London club.
Willian
Brazilian star, Willian says he wants to stay at Chelsea and extend his contract. The Brazilian’s comments come amid much speculation over a possible move to Manchester United.
Earlier this season, Willian appeared to be out of favour with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, starting many games from the bench. It led to talk that the former Shakhtar Donetsk player could seek an exit from Stamford Bridge with Jose Mourinho understood to be more than willing to take him on board at Old Trafford.
However he’s been a regular in the side recently with some excellent performances including his goal-scoring display in the recent 1-1 draw with Barcelona.
And it appears he’s very happy in West London. ‘My goal is to stay here at Chelsea. Unless Chelsea does not want me anymore, then you have to find another club,’ he joked in an interview with Globo.com.
On his intentions for the future he said: ‘Staying here [at Chelsea] for many more years. Even if it is possible to renew contract. About this, we have not talked yet. It might happen.
‘I’m adapted. I’m five years old at the end of the season, I’ve won titles. Anyway, I have the fan’s affection too. I intend to continue here until the end of my contract, to renew, to continue for more years.’
Willian, 29, even suggested he could end his career at Chelsea. ‘To be honest, today I have no thought of returning to Brazil or even ending my career in Brazil. My goal is to stay here and, if possible, close here as well. That is my thinking today.
‘I do not know what will happen in the future if I change my mind. But today my thinking is this. Stay in Europe and wind up here too.’
