Just as Senator Dino Melaye raised an alarm over some military contraband gadgets which was reportedly imported by Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, Nigerian Senators have moved swiftly.

Following Senate’s resolution on Thursday, to investigate alleged importation of prohibited military items by Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Committee has inspected the items at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

had earlier reported that while speaking in a point of order he raised at the floor of the senate on Thursday, Senator Dino Melaye, accused Governor Yahaya Bello of importing military gadgets into the country, adding that the items were intercepted by the Nigeria Customs at the Abuja Airport.
The items which are: Military camouflage, boots, night goggles, bullet proof vests, were sealed in cartons, and were displayed by Custom officials before the Committee Chairman, Senator James Manager and others.
Though the items are highly restricted and could not be imported without clearance from the office of the National Security Adviser, it was alleged that they were imported without end user in Custom documents.
