Loran Atkinson, a 29-year-old British woman has died after plunging from the balcony of her luxury hotel while partying in Spain over the Christmas weekend.
According to Metro UK, Loran Atkinson toppled over the balcony at the four-star Hotel Yaramar which overlooks Los Boliches beach in Fuengirola as she celebrated the holidays.
The adults only hotel is more than 15 storeys high and famous for its bank of scenic elevators. Loran, from Blackburn, Lancashire, had been living in London and was a graduate of the University of Central Lancashire.
Friends of the family have now set up a fundraising page to bring Loran’s remains back to the UK.
The appeal has already raised nearly £2,500 of the £4,400 target.
A family friend who organised the appeal said: ‘Anything you could donate at this time would be both gratefully and graciously received to return Loran home to rest in peace among the love of her family and friends.’
A Foreign Office spokesman said: ‘I can confirm we have been contacted by a family member, I believe the woman’s mother, about the death.
‘We were told that the woman had fallen from a balcony.’
