A community was left in serious amazement after a pig was born with just one eye and no mouth as well as the face of an elephant.
Farmer Gabriela Valdez with her new born pig which looks like an elephant
A farmer identified as Gabriela Valdez, was shocked to discover one of her newborn piglets had a face resembling that of an elephant and little “horns”.
According to The Sun UK, the deformed piglet was born on a farm in Leales in the north-western Argentine province of Tucuman.
Farmer Gabriela Valdez said: "I was with my grandmother and we were very surprised by what we saw.
"She was scared because she thought the mother had bitten him, but when we lifted him we realised that it was something totally weird, that it had no shape, really."
Apart from the bizarre features the piglet the pig had no mouth
The animal died the same day it was born because it had no mouth and could not feed.
Ms Valdez added that the creature had two “horns” and one eye.
It was also reported to have just one tooth.
But apart from its deformed head and lack of mouth, the piglet appeared anatomically normal.
She says she preserved the piglet’s corpse in a freezer in the hope that vets could analyse the creature and discover what had caused the birth defect.
Jose Medina, who farms with Ms Valdez, said the cause was unlikely to be inappropriate chemicals used on the farm.
He said: "He was the only one born that way.
“They are raised on corn without any products that have chemicals."
The seven other piglets born in the litter are thought to be normal and healthy.
