An amateur MMA fighter, 37-year-old Donshay White, passed away on Saturday night after a heavyweight fight at an event in Louisville, Kentucky.

A 37-year-old amateur MMA fighter, Donshay White, reportedly died on Saturday night after he collapsed and became unresponsive following a heavyweight fight against Ricky Muse at an event in Louisville, Kentucky.
According to a report by
Dailymail, it was the wrestlers' first time back in the ring in nearly two years, and was immediately stopped when he failed to protect himself against Muse.
He became unresponsive following a heavyweight fight and passed away Saturday night following the fight
The referee, Gary Copeland, had to step into the ring two minutes and 22 seconds into the second round after White could not block a number of brutal hits.
He was responding and seemed fine to referee Gary Copeland throughout the battle, but seemed exhausted just after it ended and received immediate medical attention.
White was able to walk to the backstage area, but collapsed and became unresponsive as soon as he got there.
The last time White (right) stepped into the ring was in November of 2015 when he knocked out Joe Johnson Jr (left)
He was given CPR backstage and taken to Kentucky One Health Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in an ambulance.
It's not clear his exact time of death, but when he had to be rushed to the hospital Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission made the call to cancel the remainder of the event.
The specific cause of death is not known at this time.
