Suspected Boko Haram operatives have attacked an area in Borno with lives lost according to the preliminary report gathered.

At least four persons have been killed and several injured when a car bomb exploded near a military check point along Gubio highway in northern Borno on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at about 10:30 am.

Borno Command, DSP Victor Isuku confirmed the incident via an electronic message sent to Borno police platform on WhatsApp, according to SaharaReporters.

"There was an explosion today along Gubio Road just before the military check point. According to a preliminary report, a pick up van with 9 persons onboard, emerged from a bush path to join the road to Rubio town when it exploded killing all the persons onboard. More details to follow shortly" - PPRO Borno DSP Victor Isuku.

Boko Haram is yet to claim responsibility for the bloody incident but reliable reports have it that the terrorist group that has terrorized Nigeria for over 7 years are responsible for the fatal operation.
