The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced a temporary suspension of the Warri-Itakpe train service.
This was disclosed in a statement shared by Managing Director of the company, Kayode Opeifa, on his X account Thursday.
The suspension will last for 72 hours.
The statement blamed the suspension on technical engine failure encountered on Tuesday, 9 April 2025.
“In view of the situation, the NRC has suspended operations on the Warri-Itakpe route for 72 hours.
"This pause will allow our technical team to conduct a full audit, resolve all identified issues, and restore safe and reliable service,” the statement signed by Henrietta Eregare, NRC’s public relations, reads in part.
