Yekini Adeojo, a former gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, is dead.

Sources said he died in the early hours of Friday.

He hails fromIdo local government area of Ibadan.

The former guber contestant reportedly served in the Nigerian Army before he joined politics.

As of the time of this report on Friday, details of his demise were still sketchy.

One of his sons, Sherif Adeojo is the Chairman of Ido local government.
