Ikpeme Neto, a Nigerian doctor and health tech entrepreneur, has said that a woman has the right to make sure a man is financially stable before deciding to marry him.
He stated this on X in reaction to the d3ath of a pregnant woman, Kemi, in Lagos.
Kemi's husband alleged that a hospital refused to give medical treatment to his wife because he couldn't pay an upfront of N500,000.
"A pregnant woman dying because her husband couldn't afford N500k should put some context to the conversations we have here.
"One such context is that women are right to size up the pocket of a man before deciding to settle down with him.
"Her life is literally at stake," Doctor Neto wrote.
