


Kpadoo Lazarus-Uwua, a suspected herder has allegedly killed 35-year-old in Imon community, Adudu Chiefdom, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
According to Daily Trust, it was gathered that the demise of the 35 years old mother is already causing serious acrimony and condemnation from the chiefdom.
Daily Trust also reports that Kpadoo-Lazarus died in her pool of blood as a result of severe matchet cuts from the suspected herder who is said to be a minor.
Uwua, a mother of three was killed on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, when a disagreement broke out over fishing activities, with the herder allegedly accusing the mother of three of polluting the water.
When Daily Trust visited the family members of the deceased, Mr Mathew Aondo explained that they are saddened by the ugly incident and urged authorities concerned particularly, Fulani leaders to caution their youths to restraint from heinous acts capable of pitching other ethnic groups against them.
Expressing displeasure with the frequent killings of their community members by suspected herders, Youth leader of Imon Community, Comrade Samuel Ortserga condemned the act, noting that the arrest of the suspect was not enough.
While appreciating the collaborative efforts of the Youth leader of Ibuan community and that of Adudu Chiefdom for arresting the suspect and subsequently handing him over to the police, Comrade Aondo appealed to the state government, security agencies to put in place measures to ameliorate the killings.
He, however, urged Imon youths to remain calm to allow the law to take its course, noting that their peaceful disposition would not be misconstrued for weakness.
On his part, the Fulani youth leader in Adudu Chiefdom, Saleh Anaruwa expressed grief over the killing of a woman while trying to fish for a family meal.
Reacting on the ugly development, the District Head of Adudu Chiefdom, Alhaji Abdullahi Tanko warned herdsmen against violent acts capable of causing crisis in the chiefdom just as he solicited cooperation of all communities to deepen the existing peace in the area.
