The former Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government and current Commissioner for Commerce, Trade, and Industry in Nasarawa State, Mohammed Sani Ottos, faced public humiliation and harassment in his hometown during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
In a viral video, a group of irate youths disrupted the Eid prayer ground, engaging in physical altercations and wielding sticks.
The chaotic scene forced Ottos' aides and supporters to form a protective barrier around him as they attempted to whisk him away from the aggressive crowd.
A voice in the background of the video can be heard remarking that the situation was even worse the previous year, suggesting that Ottos has faced consistent hostility from his own community.
However, despite the commotion, some individuals were seen consoling the commissioner, reassuring him of their support as he broke down in tears.
Following the tense confrontation, Ottos was temporarily removed from the area to diffuse tensions.

Meanwhile, after some time, he was permitted to return and participate in the Eid prayers.
The incident has raised questions about Ottos' standing within his local community and the underlying grievances fuelling such hostility.
As of now, neither the commissioner nor the Nasarawa State Government has issued an official statement on the matter.
