President Tinubu Orders Probe Into K!lling Of Travellers In Edo

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed security agencies to track down the culprits responsible for the k!lling of several travellers in Edo State

The victims, reportedly journeying from Port Harcourt to northern Nigeria, were allegedly killed by a mob in Uromi, Edo State, on Thursday.

Reacting to the incident, Tinubu condemned the attack, describing it as heinous.

“The President, who expressed shock at the dastardly act on Thursday, directed the Police and other security agencies to conduct swift and thorough investigations and punish the suspected culprits,” presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said in a statement on Friday.

Tinubu emphasized that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria and reaffirmed the right of all Nigerians to move freely across the country. He extended his condolences to the victims’ families and assured them that “criminals would not be allowed to shed the blood of innocent Nigerians in vain.”
