Peter Obi
The former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has revealed that when he was about to be impeached during his tenure, the then President, Olusegun Obasanjo, sent people to plead with the members of his state House of Assembly not to go through with the impeachment process.
Obi said, however, the same thing is happening in present day Nigeria and it is the current President, Tinubu, that is pushing for the “impeachment.”
‘’I became a governor through the court when President Obasanjo and Atiku were governor. I did not pay the court N1 . I was sitting in my house in the office and the court declared me winner. When I was being impeached, the President sent people to come and intervene on my behalf, beginning the House not to impeach me. Today, the President is impeaching the person''.
He said this while reacting to the recent State of Emergency President Tinubu declared in Rivers state and the suspension of the governor, his deputy and members of the state House of Assembly.
