Police Seek Public Assistance In Identifying Family Of Man Killed By Armed Men Along Onitsha/Owerri Express Road (Photo)

The Anambra state police command is seeking help from the public in locating the family of a yet-to-be-identified man found dead along the Onitsha/Owerri Express Road on January 23.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, says the police received a distress call from members of the public about the lifeless body of the man.

He stated that a spot observation by the Police responding team and a report from eyewitnesses at the scene revealed that the victim was shot in the stomach by suspected armed men who abandoned his lifeless body and fled the scene.

Ikenga said the body has been deposited at the morgue and further developments shall be communicated.

‘’The Command hereby seeks assistance from members of the public for possible identification of the victim and other  information that will facilitate the ongoing investigative proceedings,'' he said
