Two Nigerian men have been apprehended by the police in Adamawa State for allegedly defiling two minors.
The Adamawa State Police Command which made the arrest said the incidents took place in Sangere, a residential community in Girei Local Government Area, near the capital, Yola.
Those arrested are Bala Muhammed who is 35 years old and Usman Abdullahi who is 17 years old; both residents of Sangere.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspects were nabbed for defiling girls aged 11 and 14 years respectively.
He said the state command of the Nigeria Police received complaints about the alleged crime on the 22nd January, 2025.
“After receiving the complaints, the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, deployed personnel of the command who succeeded arresting the accused,” Nguroje said.
He added that one of the suspects, Bala Mohammed confessed to the crime, saying it was a mistake; while the other, Usman Abdullahi, also admitted having defiled the little girl and blamed his act on the devil.
He assured that both suspects will be prosecuted after investigations on their cases are concluded.
