FMC Staff Jumps Into Well, Drowns In Ogun

Adeniyi Oluwaseun, the Acting Head of the Audit Department at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta,  has reportedly taken his own life by jumping into a well in the Obantoko area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

It was gathered that the incident happended on Sunday evening shortly after Adeniyi had his dinner.

Although the reason for his action is yet to be known, it was learnt that the deceased had been battling mental health challenges and had previously undergone treatment.

It was further gathered that his body was recovered from the well and has since been deposited at a morgue.

Confirming the incident, on Tuesday, the Head of Public Relations and Communication Unit at FMC Abeokuta, Segun Orisajo, described the late Adeniyi as a hardworking and loyal staff member whose sudden death came as a shock to everyone at the hospital.

He said “It is true that he committed su!cide. It was an unfortunate incident. The management feels saddened about this development.

“The unfortunate incident caught the entire management off guard. It is a quiet and irreparable loss.The management extends its heartfelt condolences to the department, as well as to the immediate and extended family members of the deceased”.
