A popular Australian model and disc jockey, Courtney Mills, has been reported dead in a tragic accident while holidaying in Bali.
The 37-year-old was visiting her two dogs in Bali when she fell from a balcony at the unit complex she was staying in Kuta on Friday.
She suffered critical injuries and was rushed to hospital, where she underwent several emergency operations before she d!ed surrounded by her family two days later.
Ms Mills spent several years living in Bali, which she regarded as her second home before returning to Melbourne and moving back in with her family.
Her shattered family have broken their silence to pay tribute to a free spirit who never said no to an adventure or opportunity.
The much-loved DJ spun tunes at some of Melbourne's biggest nightspots, including Metropol, Cushion, Secret Garden, Hotel Barkley and Motel Eve before launching an international career.
'She was beautiful, big-hearted, happy and go-lucky,' her mum Diane Mayne told Nine News as she fought back tears.
'She lived life to the fullest.'
Ms Mills' sister Kiani added that her death has been ruled as an accident.
It's just the grief and mourning of a life that's been lost way too early,' she said.
Kiani told the Herald Sun: 'The most beautiful thing we have been able to do for the last couple of days is sit and reminisce about the incredible life that she lived and how full her life was.'
'She would drive hours and hours just to DJ for one hour.
'She would fly across the country to do the job she loved so passionately and to her, it wasn't a job, it was a life.
'Being behind those decks was her sense of freedom and we got to see her light up rooms.''
