The party extended heartfelt condolences to the state government and people of Zamfara, particularly the families of those who lost their lives.
The federal government has been asked to investigate the recent accidental airstrike to prevent a recurrence, urging the military authorities to ensure that such tragedies do not undermine the ongoing fight against banditry.
The call was made by the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The party expressed deep sadness over the tragic airstrike that claimed over 20 lives, including members of the Community Protection Guard (CPG), vigilantes, and some residents of Tungar Kara village in Maradun Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by the APC Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, the party extended heartfelt condolences to the state government and people of Zamfara, particularly the families of those who lost their lives.
“We pray Allah to accept their martyrdom and grant their families the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” he added.
The party also commended the ongoing military efforts to combat banditry in the state, highlighting recent successes by Operation Fasan Yamma, which reportedly dismantled several bandit hideouts and eliminated over 25 terrorists in Fakai, a camp enclave belonging to notorious bandit kingpin Bello Turji.
The APC noted that the intensified military offensive has forced many bandits to flee their hideouts, with Turji himself believed to be on the run.
“This operational strategy is quite impressive and should be sustained with the support of all peace-loving citizens.”
