Gunmen Kill 7 In Nasarawa Community

Suspected gunmen attacked Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, leading to the demise of seven persons while several others sustained varying degrees of injury.

A statement issued by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, said the incident occurred in the Tattara community, Panda District on Saturday night, January 11, 2025.
 
Dr. Onuk Oji Galadima, the Chairman of NYCN in Panda said the tragic incident has left the community devastated and in a complete state of grief.
 
Onuk who condoled with the families of the victims enjoined the country’s security agencies to take swift action in order to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
 
“This senseless attack on innocent unarmed citizens is unacceptable and must be condemned by all,” he said in the statement on Sunday.
 
“As we demand concrete steps from the government to ensure the safety of our communities, we also call on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities and not to take the law into their hands.
 
“Furthermore, we request adequate support and assistance for the affected families and community.
 
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Tattara and other villages affected by similar incidents."
