Nigerian human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju has referred to Grammy-winning singer, Burna Boy, as a hypocrite and oppressor following the detention of singer, Speed Darlington.
He ccused Burna Boy of using his influence to facilitate the arrest of singer Speed Darlington by the Nigerian police.
Adeyanju, who has been advocating for Speed Darlington’s release on social media, shared a video on X showcasing Burna Boy’s recent romantic escapades with American singer, Chloe Bailey.
Adeyanju’s caption accompanying the video reads:
“For insulting Burna Boy, the ojuelegba Fela, Speed Darlington has been in police custody for over 3-weeks and counting. The Nigerian Police is one of our greatest problem as a nation. Alleged defamation ooo, not armed robbery, murder, kidnapping or any crime whatsoever.
Burna Boy a hypocrite, an oppressor and a typical clownish character like one of the many depicted in George Orwell’s book for using police to harass and oppress Speed Darlington over alleged defamation. The thing Burna Boy has done to Akpi can only happen in an Animal Farm.
The oppressor of Speed Darlington is really chilling this Christmas.”
He implied that Burna Boy is enjoying the holiday season while Speed Darlington remains in custody.
