The Lagos State Government has confirmed the arrest of seventy-five miscreants and street traders during an overnight clearance operation.
The state Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed this on X, wrote;
‘’In a strategic overnight clearance operation, operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) apprehended 75 individuals comprising five females and 70 males suspected to be miscreants and street traders.
The operation, aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring a cleaner Lagos, was conducted across key areas, including:
Ikoyi & Lekki Axis: Lugard Avenue, Bourdillon Road, Glover Road, Admiralty Way, Lekki Estate Road, Ikate, and Oniru Road.
Victoria Island Axis: Ahmadu Bello Way, Saka Tinubu Street, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Violet Yough Close, Adeyemo Alakija, Eko Hotel Roundabout, and Ajose Adeogun.
The arrested individuals will face prosecution in accordance with the relevant laws of Lagos State.
