Enjoy Continued Good Health – Atiku Prays for Buhari On 82nd Birthday

Buhari, who clocked 82 years on Tuesday, was born on 17 December 1942 and has contributed immensely to the development and security of Nigeria.

 
Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has wished ex-President Muhammadu Buhari a happy birthday.
 
Recall that Buhari is celebrating his 82nd birthday today.
 
In a social media post, Atiku prayed for Buhari to continue in good health.
 
Posting on X, Atiku wrote: “On behalf of my family, I felicitate with former President Muhammadu Buhari, @MBuhari, on his 82nd birthday. I pray that the Almighty Allah continues to grant you more years in good health and vitality.”
 
Buhari, who clocked 82 years on Tuesday, was born on 17 December 1942 and has contributed immensely to the development and security of Nigeria.
 
He was Platoon Commander – 2nd Infantry Battalion, Abeokuta, 1963.
 
Buhari also served as Commander – 2nd Infantry Battalion, Lagos, 1967, and later Adjutant and Company Commander – 2nd Infantry Brigade, Kaduna, 1968.
 
He served as Brigade Major – 2nd Sector, First Infantry Division, during the Nigerian Civil War, 1968–1969.
 
Subsequently, Buhari held the position of Commander – 31st Infantry Brigade, Minna, 1970–1971.
 
The former president was Acting Director of Transport and Supply – Nigerian Army Corps, 1971–1972.
 
He was Military Secretary – Army Headquarters, Lagos, 1974–1975.
 
Buhari was military governor of the North-Eastern State, now Bauchi, Borno and Gombe states, under General Murtala Muhammed’s regime, 1975–1976.
 
He was a Federal Commissioner, Minister, for Petroleum and Natural Resources – under General Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime, 1976–1978.
 
He also served as Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, established in 1977, and later General Officer Commanding, GOC, – 4th Infantry Division, 1979–1980.
 
Buhari held the position of General Officer Commanding, GOC, 2nd Mechanised Infantry Division: January, 1981 – October 1981, before becoming General Officer Commanding, GOC, – 3rd Armored Division, Jos, 1981–1983.
 
He equally served as Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces – Military ruler of Nigeria, 1983 – 1985, and later, Chairman – Petroleum Trust Fund, PTF, under General Sani Abacha’s regime, 1995–1999.
 
He was elected President in 2015 and re-elected in 2019, leaving office in 2023.
