Nigerian Man Narrates How An African Colleague Got Him Sacked While Working As A Cleaner In UK After He Told Her His Future Plan

Nigerian cybersecurity expert Olabanji has recounted how he was fired while working as a cleaner in the UK.

Olabanji, who shared his experience on X, said that on the first day at work, the African woman supervising him asked about his background. 

He told her he was pursuing his master's in cybersecurity and only took the cleaning job while waiting to get another one in his field. 

The supervisor reported him to the manager and he was immediately fired. 

“I was working as a cleaner one time. 1st day at work the woman (African) supervising me asked me about my background. I told her I was doing my Masters in cybersecurity and I’m only doing this for d main time before getting a job in my field. She reported me to d Manager straight,” he wrote.

“The manager came looking for me and told me she doesn’t think I can do the job. Las las they chase me away. We are killing ourselves as Africans.”
