The popular Nigerian gay rights activist, who is well known as Amara The Lesbian, has called out the family of her ex-girlfriend, Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim.
Recall that in 2022, Uyaiedu, the lesbian sister of Nollywood actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim, accused Amara of being abusive, claiming she displayed violent behaviours during their relationship and screamed at her at the slightest provocation. Read HERE and HERE
The matter was resurrected by an X user, Chief Ene, on December 8, 2024, after Amara stated that feminism can only be impactful when lesbians are in forefront as “straight women are easily manipulated by men.”
“Straight women are too easily manipulated by men. they enable the survival of patriarchy much more than men themselves,” she added.
Chief Ene slammed Amara, saying she is in no position to talk about misogyny and women enabling it.
“You know the most hilarious part of this tweet? It’s that this same babe trended on this same app for abusing her girlfriend and upholding gender roles in their relationship. This is who is talking about “straight women uphold patriarchy MUCH MORE than men themselves” wtf is more patriarchal than assuming the role of a male hetero in your homosexual and homoerotic relationship??? Don’t get a f8cking grip rn,” Chef Ene wrote.
Responding to the allegations in a series of post via X on Wednesday, December 11, Amara accused the Ikpe-Etim family of remaining silent while she faced bullying despite knowing the “level of wickedness that lives inside Uyaiedu.”
“Last thing I’m going to say on this matter. I promise. Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim’s entire family both living and dead can confirm the level of wickedness that lives inside that person. I refuse to believe that I’m the only person that has seen that woman for who she is. I understand why,” she wrote.
"You all have kept quiet for 2 years as the internet have bullied and tried to shame me at every turn because of your daughter and sister. But this is the deal, you people have a long way to go to healing or rest because you bury what’s bad. Evil will always live with you."
