Police Arrest Four Men Supplying Security Uniforms To Bandits In Katsina

ASP Sadiq said 14 pairs of military uniforms and one police uniform, allegedly intended for delivery to the armed bandits for their criminal operations were recovered by the authorities.

A 25-year-old resident of Dundubus, Daja LGA, Aminu Hassan, has been arrested by the Katsina Police Command for allegedly financing bandits operating in Danmusa LGA and its surrounding areas.

The suspect was arrested with two pairs of military uniforms concealed in a black polythene bag during a routine patrol along the Yantumaki and Kankara highway on November 19, 2024.

The spokesperson Katsina Police Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq disclosed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday. He also revealed that subsequent investigations led to the arrest of three additional suspects: Lawal M Ahmad (29), Isma’il Dalhatu (24), and Shafi’u Adamu (28).

ASP Sadiq said 14 pairs of military uniforms and one police uniform, allegedly intended for delivery to the armed bandits for their criminal operations were recovered by the authorities.

“The suspects have confessed to their involvement in this criminal activity,”
he said

In another development, the Katsina State Police Command arrested seven individuals for allegedly raping four minors aged 13-14. The suspects, all residents of Kaita LGA, were arrested on November 25, 2024, following a report lodged at the Kaita Divisional Police Headquarters.

ASP Sadiq stated that the suspects lured the minors to the home of one of the suspects, where they assaulted them sexually. He noted that the arrested suspects have confessed to the crimes and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police Katsina State, CP Musa Aliyu commended officers of the Command for their dedication and professionalism in apprehending these individuals. He urged the public to continue providing valuable information that can aid security efforts in combating crimes in the state.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all residents of Katsina State,” he stated.
