Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources, has tendered an apology to the Osun State faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over a recent comment applauding Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Ado-Doguwa, who is a chieftain of the APC from Kano State, had recently represented the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, at the Ede Day celebration, where he reportedly hailed Governor Adeleke’s development strides in Osun State.

But the Osun APC, in a statement by its spokesman, Kola Olabisi, expressed displeasure, accusing Ado-Doguwa of putting the APC down.

Addressing the APC concerns via a statement on Tuesday, the lawmaker assured the party that his loyalty and support remains undivided, adding that the days of the PDP in the state are numbered.

He apologised, while accusing the PDP of quoting him out of context and twisting his comment for political gains.

He said, “I was quoted out of context. Honestly, the PDP media team in Osun misused my jokes to attack our party, APC, in the context of their local political tussles.

“It was indeed quite unfortunate; they used my innocent comments to score cheap political gains.”

He, however, said, “I wish to tender my sincere and unreserved apology to our APC family in Osun State. Please accept my profound and heartfelt apologies. By God’s grace, the days of the PDP are numbered in Osun State. In 2026, our party will bounce back in the state, Insha Allah.

“I will always remain a loyal and proud member of the APC, the largest political party in Africa. As a founding member of the APC, I’m the chief promoter of the party not only in Kano but across the country.”
