Popular human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has accused Grammy-winning singer, Burna Boy of oppressing his colleague, Speed Darlington with his influence.
Adeyanju raised these allegations while addressing the detention of Speed Darlington, who was reportedly arrested shortly after returning to Nigeria.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Adeyanju, who is also representing Speed Darlington in his legal battle, expressed frustration over the circumstances of his client’s arrest. He revealed that Speed Darlington has been in police custody since November 25, sparking concerns about the fairness of the legal process.
According to Adeyanju, Burna Boy was behind the arrest, allegedly sending a large contingent of Mobile Police Officers (MOPOL) to apprehend Speed Darlington.
The lawyer questioned why Burna Boy, a global music icon known as “Africa’s Giant,” would target a lesser-known artist, describing the move as an unnecessary show of power against someone he referred to as a “small mosquito.”
