A video of a French band performing "Testimony", the hit track of Nigerian duo, P-Square, during a state dinner in Paris, held in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has surfaced online.
The dinner, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday, was part of Tinubu’s official visit to France.
The rendition of "Testimony", a song celebrated for its themes of success and celebration, highlighted the global influence of Nigerian music and culture. The gesture not only entertained the guests but also underscored the deepening cultural ties between Nigeria and France.
Tinubu and Macron further solidified these bonds through warm exchanges on social media. Macron reminisced about his days interning at the French Embassy in Lagos, describing it as a cherished connection to Nigeria. Tinubu, in response, expressed gratitude for Macron’s hospitality and reiterated the importance of their nations’ partnership.
The Nigerian leader’s visit aims to enhance collaboration in various sectors, including agriculture, security, education, health, and energy. Tinubu’s office noted that the three-day visit would create “opportunities for partnership, particularly in youth engagement, employment, innovation, and energy transition.”
