A woman has taken to the X platform to narrate how her cousin insisted that her wedding would not be held at her father's house because he did nothing for her after he separated from her mother.

She stated that women have the power to decide how their wedding goes, rather than conform to tradition.

Taking to the microblogging platform, she revealed that the cousin chose her uncle who helped her through school to represent her father.

She wrote: "There’s nothing going on at YOUR wedding that you can’t stop.

"My cousin insisted that her wedding wouldn’t be held at her father’s house because he did nothing for her. Chose the uncle who helped her through school. Told her dad not to speak at the wedding. And nobody died."
