Jesutega Onokpasa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has disclosed that he once called for the killing of Simon Ekpa, the self-styled Prime Minister of the Biafran Republic Government in Exile.
Onokpasa explained that a person is liable to be killed if he is an enemy combatant.
Recall that Ekpa was arrested in Finland over alleged involvement in terror-related activities.
The Central Criminal Police in Finland confirmed his arrest in a statement on its website on Thursday, saying four individuals were arrested on suspicion of terrorist crimes.
Speaking on Arise Television’s programme on Friday, Onokpasa, who also is a lawyer, said that Ekpa is a crazy, poorly educated fellow who had killed his fellow Igbos.
He said: “The case of Simon Ekpa, his arrest is long overdue. In fact, I had even…, well, this is classified, I had actually even encouraged that he should be shot because he was killing his fellow Igbos.
“If the person is an enemy combatant, he is liable to be shot. I know the law. This is just an intelligence stuff. He is just a crazy, poorly educated young.
“In that case I am in full support of his arrest.”
