According to Wike, Adeyanju had once sought his support to become the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has slammed lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju,
Wike was reacting after Adeyanju opposed his demolition activities in Abuja.
Recall that Adeyanju, along with activist Vincent Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, led a protest against the demolition of Ruga, a settlement along Airport Road in Abuja, urging President Bola Tinubu to intervene and claiming the demolition was unjustified.
In response, Wike, speaking to reporters on Wednesday, dismissed Adeyanju as “jobless,” attributing this as his motivation for activism. Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, also alleged that Adeyanju had once sought his support to become the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a request Wike said he declined.
He said, “I saw one young man, they call him Adeyanju. He is from Kogi State. This young boy came to me that he wants to be the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP and I said no.
“I said he won’t be, and he was not. I have no regret about it. He has suddenly become a civil society activist.
“He has no job and that’s why he decided to turn to a civil society activist.”
