TAMPAN President, Mr. Latin, Others Mourn Veteran Actor Ayobami Olabiyi

In a post on his Instagram page, Mr. Latin described Olabiyi’s death as a tremendous loss to the industry, praising his dedication, leadership, and contributions to their organisation.

Mr. Latin, the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), is saddened and mourning the death of veteran actor Mudashiru Olabiyi Ayobami.

Recall that Olabiyi died on October 16, 2024 after a brief illness in Oyo state.

In a post on his Instagram page, Mr. Latin described Olabiyi’s death as a tremendous loss to the industry, praising his dedication, leadership, and contributions to their organisation.

He encouraged the public to support Olabiyi’s family during this difficult time and offer their thoughts and prayers.

“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of our esteemed National Secretary, Alhaji Mudashiru Olabiyi, who departed from us today, 16th of October, 2024. This is a tremendous loss not only to our association but also to the entire creative community. His dedication, leadership, and contributions have left an indelible mark on our organization, and his absence will be deeply felt.

“During this difficult time, I encourage all to keep His family in their thoughts and prayers. Let us come together as a community to offer our support and strength to one another. May he rest in perfect peace”, he wrote.

Several Yoruba stars, including Seyi Edun, Faithia Williams, and Doyin Amid, paid their respects to the late veteran in the comments section.

Olabiyi’s death adds to the list of Yoruba actors who have passed away this year, including Sisi Quadri and Dayo Adewunmi.

The film industry has experienced a series of losses in recent months, with the passing of veteran actors Mr. Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Zulu Adigwe, and young actors Junior Pope and Jumoke Aderounmu.
