How Three Vandals Were Nabbed With Stolen Electric Cables In Katsina

Police successfully arrested the suspects along the Batsari-Jibia road in possession of six bags of suspected vandalized and stolen aluminium wires in a bid to convey the same to Jibia LGA in a tricycle.

No fewer than three men have been nabbed by the Nigerian Police Force, Katsina state command, in connection with a suspected case of vandalism and theft.

According to the command’s police public relations officer (PPRO), ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, on 25th September, 2024, at about 5:45am, the command succeeded in arresting the trio of one Sabi’u Hassan, 34, Isiya Salisu, 30, and Aliyu Haruna, 20, all of Kofar Durbi Quarters, Katsina, in connection with a suspected case of vandalism and theft.

“While on routine patrol, a team of police operatives, in collaboration with members of the vigilante, intercepted the syndicate around Kofar Durbi quarters, in possession of some quantity of electric armoured cable, a sharp pointed iron bar, and a hacksaw reasonably suspected to have been stolen.”

“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offense and further mentioned four (4) other suspects now at large as their accomplices.

“Efforts are being intensified to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspects as the investigation proceeds,”
the PPRO said.

In a related development, the PPRO said On September 22, 2024, at about 10:30am the command succeeded in arresting the trio of one Sahabi Bishir, 22, of Tudun Tukare Quarters; Bishir Falalu, 24, of Danmarke quarters, all of Jibia LGA; and one Isah Sani, 28, of Mallamawa Mai Kasuwa Village, Batsari LGA, all of Katsina State, in connection with a suspected case of vandalism and theft.

He said operatives stationed at Faru Village, Jibia LGA, acting on intelligence successfully arrested the suspects along the Batsari-Jibia road in possession of six bags of suspected vandalized and stolen aluminium wires in a bid to convey the same to Jibia LGA in a tricycle.

During interrogation, the suspect, Isah Sani, confessed to having gotten the items from one Dahiru, now at large. Efforts are being intensified to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect as the investigation proceeds.
