The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a notorious cult gang while on a mission to avenge the killing of a member by a rival gang in the Agege area of the state.

It was gathered that Alimi Abdurasak,18, and Eniola Shamsideen, 18, were arrested by operatives from Elere Police Station, Lagos State Police Command at about 1.50am along Agbotikuyo area of Agege.

The suspects attempted to bolt away on citing an anti-crime patrol team stationed along Agbotikuyo, but were cornered by the officers who had suspected their presence in the area.

The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest said the two suspected cult gang members were nabbed on October 6, 2024.

Hundeyin said the suspects are both from the Oniwaya area of Agege.

"At the time of the arrest, the suspects were found with a black bag. When the bag was searched, two axes and two bottles were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing and the suspects would soon be charged to court,” the PPRO added.
