How I Made My Marriage of 21 Years Work - Actor Yemi Solade

 

Veteran actor, Yemi Solade has revealed why his marriage of 21 years was successful.

 

The actor is married to his wife, Hannah and they have been together since tying the knot in September 2003.

 

Speaking in an interview with Nollywood Radio, the 64-year-old movie producer said his wife has been the backbone of their relationship.

 

He attributed much of their success to Hannah’s support and ability to manage him through the ups and downs of life.

 

Solade, who has been featured in every Wale Adenuga series, including Papa Ajasco, Super Story, This Life, and Odd World, added that the secret to their successful marriage lies in the friendship they share.

“I give it to my wife. She manages me very well. She is been very tolerant; she perseveres a lot. My wife, apart from every other thing, is just a normal person. She is very selfless, she sacrifices more than anybody I know in this world. She is God-sent,” Solade said.

 

 

The actor further addressed rumours that he demands sexual favours in exchange for movie roles.

 

Solade denied the allegations, clarifying that as an actor, he has no control over casting. He also praised his wife for her calmness in the face of such rumours.

 

“Once I show her and say ‘Honey, sorry, something is brewing,’ and then she says ‘just be careful’, that is all. My wife is a very peaceful person; otherwise, we would not be together for 22 years now,” he added.

 

Solade and Hannah’s marriage has been blessed with two children, Rola and Femi.

 

The actor had previously shared that his first wife left him to live abroad. He also revealed that he met Hannah on the set of Wale Adenuga’s ‘Super Story’.
