The suspects were arrested by officers of Ugbekun Division during a stop and search along Upper Sakponba road in Benin City.

Two suspects, Collins Evbayiro 34, and O. Nagbagbonmuna, 35, have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for possession of a double-barrel gun with 2 live cartridges.

The spokesperson of the command, Moses Joel Yamu, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, August 22, 2024, said the suspects were arrested by officers of Ugbekun Division during a stop and search along Upper Sakponba road in Benin City.

“Officers of Ugbekun Division, while on stop & search, along Upper Sakponba, arrested Collins Evbayiro 34yrs & O. Nagbagbonmuna, 35yrs for possession of a locally made cut-to-size double barrel gun with 2 live cartridges in a Toyota Yaris car no BEN 777 XE. Investigation is ongoing,” the PPRO stated.
