Shocking Revelations, Drama, Romance Take Centre Stage As BBNajia Season 9 Heats Up

The current season of Big Brother Naija, titled "No Loose Guard," which began on July 28, is approaching its climax. As expected, the show has been filled with surprising revelations, intense drama, budding romances, and the unforgettable moments that have become its trademark.

Now, in its third week, this year’s edition can be said to be taking shape, even as the housemates are crawling out of their shells to mingle and perhaps, restrategize in order to remain in the house.

During the week, a lot of shocking revelations emerged that left many viewers permanently glued to their TV screens. One of such revelations that got buzzing on social media was made by Victoria, who said she once dated an older white man.

Sharing her dating experience with some male housemates, Victoria explained that her relationship with the foreigner was primarily because of what she was benefiting from him. She further revealed that the relationship ended when the man relocated to another place.

“I have dated a white man before but he was way older and it was for what I was benefiting from him, I didn’t really like it,” she said Victoria’s revelation left her pair, Shaun dumbfounded.

It was the same story with Handi, who revealed that her twin sister and partner on the show, Wanni, had a crush on Davido, which she wasn’t in support of. During a conversation with Shaun and Wanni, Handi explained that she discouraged Wanni from dating the singer because she wouldn’t be respected in the relationship. The revelation resonated with the viewers and many are still talking about it till date. There was also Kassia’s outburst on how she and her husband and partner on the show, Kellyrae’s pretence of being ‘besties’ is affecting her in the house.

Recall that Kassia and Kellyrae, better known as DoubleKay, while entering the house said that although they are married, they would use the pretence of being besties in the house as a strategy. After pretending for more than two weeks, Kassia told Biggie during the week’s diary session that she’s beginning to find it difficult to cope with the pretence.

“This whole bestie thing that we are doing is really getting to me, sometimes I just wanna jump on him (Kellyrae) but I can’t because of this whole bestie thing,” she said.

Shaun drops bombshell

Also, looking at one of the most unexpected twists of the season, Shaun dropped a bombshell that destabilized other housemates. Ocee had confided in Shaun that he and Handi had a relationship outside the house. The two housemates who have been coexisting in the BBNaija house apparently have a history that dates back to the real world.

Shaun, clearly relieved that he’s with Wanni instead of being caught in that messy triangle, shared how awkward it would’ve been if he had ended up with Handi, given what he knows now. And, of course, the drama didn’t stop there. Handi, not one to shy away from the truth, acknowledged Shaun’s statement, adding that she wasn’t treated right by Ocee during their time together. As expected, social media went agog with reactions as fans were left in utter disbelief.

Love in the air

Meanwhile, in a different corner of the house, love or something like it was in the air. Mayor Frosh and Rhuthee were spotted getting their flirt on during the task, with Rhuthee revealing her love language to him after he asked her. She mentioned words of affirmation and gifting as her top love languages, and from the way they were vibing, it looks like this duo might be ready to take their ‘situationship’ to the next level.

But hold on to your popcorn, because this story might not have a fairy-tale ending. Just days back, Mayor Frosh was overheard telling Onyeka and Toby Forge in the laundry area, that Rhuthiee was his second choice, and this means his heart might still be with Nelly. He also repeated the same to Biggie in his first individual diary session, saying he could still push to get on with Nelly.

As the game is getting hotter and interesting, viewers have started rooting for their favourite housemates. Recently evicted housemate, Nne of Ndi Nne pair, in an interview has tipped Mbadiwe Twins as possible winners of the reality show this season.
