BREAKING: Three Arrested As Security Operatives Disperse Protesters In Abuja

Security operatives dispersed protesters in the Karu area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday, August 5, during the ongoing protest against hunger.

The protesters marching against bad governance in the country were just assembling when security agents went after them and arrested three.

One of the protesters who spoke with Punch, Yahaya Abdullahi, said the security agents fired teargas at them.

He said, “Our people were just coming out and the police and other security agents started tear-gassing us and arrested some of our people, we know of three for now.”

This development comes hours after one of the leaders of the ongoing #Endbadgovernance protests in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Micheal Lenin, was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

According to information, Lenin was arrested around 2 am on Monday at his residence in the Apo area of the nation’s capital city by DSS operatives.
