Speed Darlington criticized the practice of arresting individuals for voicing their opinions.
Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has condemned the arrest of media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM).
According to him, the practice of arresting individuals for voicing their opinions is wrong.
Speed Darlington’s remarks were prompted by the recent arrest of VDM, who was reportedly taken into custody amidst a controversy involving alleged financial fraud amounting to N300 million.
Despite stating that he is not a supporter of VDM, Speed Darlington maintained that individuals should not face arrest for expressing their views.
He argued that legal recourse, such as litigation, should be pursued instead of resorting to arrests which he deemed unjustifiable.
In his statement, Speed Darlington also criticized VDM for allegedly seeking attention through controversial means, suggesting that such actions are misguided.
