A man was left in shock after he wandered into the bush to relieve himself only to scamper for safety.

The 37-year-old from Kamvelihle in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, found the bodies of two men with tyres around their necks and their hands tied up. The corpses were found in an area locals call the “Bush of Death”.

Speaking to Daily Sun SA about the matter, the man said: “I couldn’t use the toilet at home because it was occupied. Time was against my girlfriend and I had to walk my child to school.

“When we got to the middle of the scary bush, I couldn’t hold it in any more and I went to relieve myself. As I was taking my pants off I saw the bodies.

“I ran to the cop shop with my girlfriend and reported the matter. I was so scared because I thought the killers might still be around.”

Another resident said it wasn’t the first time something like this had happened in the bush.

“Two weeks ago we found two people who had been badly beaten lying there. And about a year ago a girl was raped and killed in the same bush.

“The bodies of dead babies have also been found there.

“Something must be done about this. I think things would be better if the bush was cut down, because people use this area to hide their dirty work,” said the resident.

The shocking incident made one of the relatives of the deceased to collapse after seeing the bodies. However, the police quickly removed the bodies. Constable Mncedi Mbombo confirmed the incident.

He said: “Two bodies of two men aged between 25 and 30 were found burned in the bush in Kamvelihle.

“The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.

“A murder case was opened and police are investigating.”
