The Iria ceremony of the Wakirike people is an event held to officially welcome young virgins into womanhood.

A community in Rivers State has initiated some young virgins into womanhood during the famous Iria ceremony.

The festival happened in Ogu town in Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The ceremony was held on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

The Iria ceremony of the Wakirike people is an event held to officially welcome young virgins into womanhood.
