The little boy was abandoned by villagers to die after he was dubbed a witch. Everyone left him to his fate and ran away from him as if he had leprosy. The little boy was rescued after a Danish aid worker identified as Anja Ringgren Loven mustered courage to reach out to the boy even risking a customary taboo.
Hope had a swollen belly, and suffered from Hypospadias (a congenital condition in males in which the opening of the urethra is on the underside of the penis).
Photos released by Ms Loven, the founder of the African Children's Aid Education and Development Foundation, now show the youngster has made a remarkable recovery.
Hope is now totally transformed
Hope is unrecognisable from the skeleton he was in January, having put on weight, and can be seen with a permanently cheeky smile as he revels being looked after by the caring team at the foundation who have nursed him back to health.
