Bashir Ahmad
Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has taken to X, formerly Twitter to disclose that Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, did not release any statement regarding the controversy surrounding her appointment.
Earlier reports had indicated that the Minister released a statement clarifying her stance over her youth service situation.
The report claimed that Musawa had said that her appointment didn’t break the country’s laws.
“I would like to state clearly that contrary to wrong insinuations and false assumptions in a section of the mainstream media and social media where false accusations have been made, there is no breach of any law or constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended regarding my current position as a Minister and status as a serving corps member,” the alleged report said.
However, Ahmad said that the statement is false and not in any way linked to Musawa.
He explained that she had issued a statement through the Ministry of Information and National Orientation clarifying that she did not release any official statement.
Speaking via Twitter, Ahmad wrote, “Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, has issued a statement through the Ministry of Information and National Orientation clarifying that she has not released any official statement regarding the controversy surrounding her NYSC certificate, as she kindly asked the public to be cautious of unverified information.”
