Kwara Fire Service Recovers Woman's Corpse From River

Spokesperson of the service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, in a statement, said the lifeless body of an unidentified woman, approximately 46 years old, was recovered on Thursday evening, July 13, 2023.

The lifeless body of a yet-to-be-identified woman has been recovered by the Kwara State Fire Service from Asa River, along Emir's Road, Post Office area in Ilorin.
 
Spokesperson of the service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, in a statement, said the corpse of the woman, approximately 46 years old, was recovered on Thursday evening, July 13, 2023.
 
According to Adekunle, at about 18:44 hours, SP Dolapo of B Division Police Station alerted and summoned the Kwara State Fire Service to the scene of the incident.
 
“Upon arrival, the firemen swiftly and effectively demonstrated their exceptional skills and expertise in recovering the woman's body from the river,” he stated.
     
"The team's remarkable display of prowess was further complemented by the presence of the Director of Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John who attended the scene personally, underlining the gravity and importance attached to this distressing event.
     
"Following the successful recovery operation, the corpse was promptly handed over to the team led by Inspector Ruben Olaitan from A Division.
     
"We would like to express our gratitude to SP Dolapo of B Division Police Station for their prompt response and collaboration with the Kwara State Fire Service. Their joint efforts highlight the significance of interagency cooperation in dealing with emergencies effectively.
     
"The Kwara State Fire Service team deserves commendation for their unwavering dedication and commitment to their duties. Their exemplary professionalism and swift action in the face of adversity reflect the core values of the fire service and contribute to the safety and security of our community.
     
“Therefore, The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa expressed his sadness over the incident and voiced out to the general public to be more vigilant in thier neighborhoods as to prevent similar occurrences.”
