People have been left shocked and angry after a footage appeared online showing a man cooking a dog alive in a hot boiling water.

The man tries to hold the dog as it tries to escape

A clip released online has left people shell-shocked after a man was caught on camera cooking a dog alive in boiling water for a village party.

The horrifying footage shot in China shows the farmer boiling a live dog and forcing it to stay inside the pot.

The poor dog tries in futility to escape but seems like its legs are tied. The man continues to poke the dog with a stick forcing it down. The sad ordeal continues until the footage ends.

'This makes me so mad because i cant do anything about it,' one person writes.

It has been revealed that as many as 10 million dogs are killed for food annually in China. The majority of 'meat dogs' in the country are stolen pets and strays, according to an investigation published in 2015 by Hong Kong-based charity Animals Asia.
