There was tight security at the Ondo State House of Assembly Complex in the Alagbaka area of Akure, the state capital, on Friday, June 2, minutes after the purported resignation of the speaker, Bamidele Oloyeloogun, a few days to the expiration of the tenure of the 9th Assembly.
The two gates of the assembly complex were reportedly blocked by armed security men.
Speaking on the development, the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon Olugbenga Omole, confirmed the presence of the armed security men at the Assembly.
Omole dismissed insinuation that the Speaker had resigned, adding that the signature of Oleyelogun was forged on a fake letter in circulation.
The outgoing Spokesman of the House noted that there are plots to scuttle the last sitting of the 9th Assembly.
