BREAKING: PDP Picks Governor Okowa As Atiku’s Running Mate

Nigeria's foremost opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as the running mate of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Contrary to the reports that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike would emerge as Atiku’s running mate, the PDP finally settled for Okowa.

Atiku Abubakar himself made the announcement on his verified Twitter page.

He wrote: "I am delighted to announce Governor @IAOkowa as my Vice Presidential candidate. I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all.

"As One We Can Get It Done. #OneNigeria. -AA"
