Nigeria's Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed, who is currently in Paris for the United Nations annual summit on climate change is among the 13 women who were featured in Vogue magazine.

As the United Nations annual summit on climate change which is titled 'Conference of the Parties, (COP21)'  is currently ongoing in Paris, popular fashion and lifestyle magazine, Vogue decided to feature the 13 women attending the summit.

The women featured included Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim from the Sahel region of Chad, Achala Abeysinghe of Sri Lanka, Dessima Williams, Nigeria’s Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed and others.

Amina Mohammed, the special adviser on post-2015 development planning to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, told Vogue Magazine in its publication;

"When people have made up their mind that they want to fail before they start, that’s the hardest. Because at risk are millions of people, and they matter."

"In Africa, you don’t just think about the children that you bear. Every child is yours."

In Mohammed’s home state of Nigeria, she says, climate change has exacerbated poverty. "It has come together as the perfect storm to create situations that have fueled Boko Haram, the terrorists that live in my part of the country." But, says Mohammed, "I think we’re getting nearer the light at the end of the tunnel."

Following the feature, Kardashian star and hot model, Kendall Jenner shared Amina Mohammed’s photo on her Instagram page and urged her over 41 million fans to follow the Minister on Instagram.

Later, the Minister tweeted at Kendall, thanking her for using her massive platform to bring attention to the importance of the summit.
