Speaking while delivering the National Budget Speech before the South African National Assembly last Wednesday, the country's Minister of Finance, Malusi Gigaba, played it cool, calm, and collected while quoting his favourite rapper.

During his speech just before he tabled the key points on taxes, social spending, and economic growth, he quoted a line from popular US rapper, Kendrick Lamar's song 'Alright'.

"As Kendrick Lamar says, We going to be right, we are going to be alright," Gigaba quoted.

The minister attempted to follow the footsteps of President Cyril Ramaphosa by quoting a famous musician. During the recent State of the Nation Address, Ramaphosa quoted the late Hugh Masekela's song, 'Thuma Mina', which means 'Send Me'.
