Spanish La Liga side, Valencia CF, has on Thursday, January 11, announced the signing of Francis Coquelin from Arsenal in a deal reportedly worth £12 million.

The defensive midfielder was handed Coquelin a four-and-a-half year deal by the Spanish side amid interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace for the 26-year-old midfielder.

He made 29 Premier League appearances last season but the Gunners struggled as they failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 21 years.

This season he found himself behind Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere in Wenger's thoughts, starting just one Prem match.
